Itinerary
Upon arrival in London, you will begin your tour with the Houses of Parliament (aka The Palace of Westminster) and the Elizabeth Tower which is currently under scaffolding for renovation. You will also learn the story of Big Ben.
Next on the agenda is Westminster Abbey, the church, burial ground, and coronation site that has attracted visitors over the past 900 years, as well as Parliament Square and then the regal Buckingham Palace - the Queen's official residence since 1837.
As you travel through Pall Mall, you will reach Trafalgar Square where the National Gallery, St Martin in the Fields Church, and Admiral Nelson's Column are all located. It is here that you will have time for a traditional English lunch…such as the famous fish & chips, steak and ale pie, or roast lamb with mint sauce; all favourites of our British locals! If you are a vegetarian, it is no problem as there are many vegetarian options, such as Bubble and Squeak, Welsh Rarebit or cauliflower cheese!
After lunch, you will go down to Whitehall and through Downing Street, passing Number 10, (the home of the Prime Minister), as we proceed along the River Thames. The London Eye will greet you directly across from the new residence of New Scotland Yard.
As you travel further along the Thames, the road will take you to Sir Christopher Wren's masterpiece St. Paul's Cathedral. Afterwards, you will stop at the Monument where you will learn about London’s change of destiny due to the Great fire of London..
You will then proceed to the Tower of London, an attraction that is unpleasant for some as it houses the most popular instrument of torture in medieval England, the rack! However, its viewing has offered a bit of fun for over 900 years. You will have the opportunity to explore the neighbourhood on foot for your further enjoyment. You will be able to walk along the bridge and take some nice photos from the best possible picturesque spots that will provide you with memories that will last a lifetime; photos of famous sites that include the beauty of the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and of course the beautiful River Thames. If time permits, you will take a break at St Katharine Docks and you can visit London's most pretty traditional Pub Dickens Inn, where you can taste the top 10 brands of beers in England or partake of a traditional afternoon tea.
All good things must come to an end and so you will be transferred to your cruise ship, hotel, or airport. You will take with you the sweetest and most cherished moments of London as you arrive at the cruise terminal, or your final destination, as we bid you farewell!
