Itinerary
Your tour starts with Oxford city which is appx 100 minutes away from London. Because of its beautiful scenery of gothic towers and steeples, Oxford is known as the " City of Spires." The majority of these are from the college, England's oldest. Built mainly in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, University of Oxford's buildings have a chapel, a lobby, a library and walled gardens are built around two or three squares in every school. You will visit Balliol College or Oxford Trinity College. Oxford Museum tells you the history of the city, which is deep- seated. The highlights in your program today are Oxford Castle and the Grand Covered Market in this ancient city. Your next stop is one of the pretty towns of Cotswolds. Cotswolds is also known as Cotswold Hills and covers the calcareous hills of south-central England for approximately 50 miles. The Cotswolds are a part of the Jurassic highlands that go south-west to north east throughout the country. The Cotswolds climb steeply from its tributary the Avon (Upon Avon) and the clay valley of the Lower Severn River and gradually slope east to the Terray Valley of Oxford. The Cotswolds are the only designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the United Kingdom. Have your cameras ready as you cross English villages in one of England's most picturesque areas. You will think that you are right in the middle of a fairy tale. On the edge of the Cotswolds is the magnificent Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough, where Winston Churchill was born and this will be your final destination for today.
