Simply go behind the scenes at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, the world's most famous tennis club and home of The Championships. Be inspired with a visit to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and a 90-minute Tour with a qualified Blue Badge Tour Guide, plus we will access to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, including the Virtual Reality experience and free audio guide for the Museum in 10 languages. Get up close to The Championships Trophies, see John McEnroe's ghost, and learn about the history, traditions and legends of the game. The Museum's Virtual Reality Experience is a new and exciting way to experience Wimbledon. Using the latest VR technology you'll be transported back in time, before being given full 360° access to The Championships. The Tour of the Grounds provides an unforgettable experience: walk through the same doors as the players, sit in their seats in the Media Centre, and learn what it takes to grow a perfect grass tennis court. We will experience the history and traditions of ‘the Fortnight’ in the Museum. Get up close to the Championships Trophies, feel the fabrics of tennis fashions from the Victorian period, test your skills on the Batak wall and learn about how The Championships has developed since 1877. With clothing and equipment donated by tennis’ top stars, you’re certain to see something from your favourite player. The Museum has run several special exhibitions over the years, including one dedicated to tennis at the Olympic Games, another charting the evolution of the racket from the 1870s to present day, and a showcase of the spectacular tennis posters in the Museum’s collection. Did you know that croquet, not tennis, was the first sport to grace Wimbledon’s lawns? The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2018. Next in the museum is the most important part that’s Centre Court we will be visiting. This tour is accompanied by one of the official Wimbledon Tour Assistants, on a short 10-minute visit. During Wimbledon Tennis Museum we will be able to access, Media Centre, BBC Studio, Players' Entrance, Main Press Interview Room and Centre Court. Technology is here for you! Find out what goes on behind the scenes in the Broadcast Centre to get Wimbledon to your TV, tablet or smartphone, visit areas reserved for the players and the media. Experience uninterrupted views from the members’ balcony over the historic grounds and grass courts towards the iconic spire of St. Mary’s Church and finally finish your visit to the world-famous Centre Court.
The immaculate Virtual Reality experience, a 360˚ show experienced using the latest Virtual Reality technology. The experience will take you on a fun and informative journey through the history of The Championships at Wimbledon, shrink you down to the size of an ant to learn more about the science behind the famous grass, sit you in the umpire’s chair to watch some magic moments from your favourite players unfold, be voiced by former Wimbledon semi-finalist and British No.1 Tim Henman, using the very latest in 360˚ camera technology we gained exclusive access to The Championships, 2016. Featuring a never-before-seen view of Wimbledon, we were able to gain exclusive access to film the Ladies’ Singles Final between Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber, as well as the Gentlemen’s Singles Final between Andy Murray and Milos Raonic. Get up close to the action in the Gentlemen’s Doubles Final and watch Wheelchair Singles action in its first year as a Wimbledon event. Also included is a very close encounter with Rufus the Hawk, Wimbledon’s resident bird scarer!
